At Xiscad, we specialise in repairing and refurbishing used computers and laptops by renewing outdated or obsolete systems with modern software and hardware. Our dedicated employees work around the clock to maintain high-standard IT services to the public, and to provide our young apprentices with the knowledge they need to develop effective practical skills in the IT sector. Our apprenticeship programme runs over the period of a year (longer if they are taken on at the finish of their course) - after just 12 months, the apprentice can earn industry recognised qualifications as well as achieve optional vendor qualifications from IT specialist companies: • Cisco ITE • Microsoft MTA / MCT The classroom work is all coursework based - this delivers the programme in a calm and collected manner as it stops the need for vigorous revision for exams. Every two weeks our apprentices are swapped between the classroom and the commercial side of the company where they will learn to build, repair and refurbish hardware in a computer as well as remove/install software and find faults. The modified systems are then sold through our e-Commerce accounts. All of our trainers at Xiscad are degree qualified in the fields of IT and/or Business with a number of years work in teaching or working for private apprenticeship companies - this means the course is delivered to the apprentices by professionals with real working experience in the industry. Our Managing Director, Steven Carr, has over 5 years worth of teaching experience and over 7 years worth of experience in IT. Our Director of Curriculum and Quality, David Wilson, has over 12 years worth of experience in further education as well as extra varied job roles in different colleges - to give some examples of the professionals in our employment.
